MEET THE MAKER:
JETTY ROAD BREWERY
Opening on Christmas Eve of 2017, Jetty Road Brewery started out with six local mates who just wanted Dromana to have a venue that served great beer.
They created a free-spirited Peninsula essence; salty air and sand between toes. New owners have embraced the vibe, and today the brewery celebrates simple lifestyle feels, despite the complexities of craft beer. The character is captured in kegs and cans enjoyed by locals and adventurers alike, transporting a ‘taste of the simple Peninsula life’ across the country.
A trip to the venue brings adventurers close to the source and behind the scenes, thanks to a sizeable peep hole through which Sean Varley and his team concoct a very solid core range – including a Blueberry Sour in summer and a Milk Choc Stout in winter – exploring hoppy, fruity and explorative beers all year long, depending on the season and which way the wind is blowing.
As the very grounded JR Crew would say, it’s “just down the road”.

“AS SOMEBODY WHO GREW UP IN COUNTRY VIC, THE DROMANA HABITAT IS A BUSTLING URBAN OASIS IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL REGIONS ON EARTH – WHICH HAPPENS TO BE A VERY CONDUCIVE MIX FOR BREWING EXCELLENT BEER.”
Sean Varley, Head Brewer – who started out at Bright Brewery before joining Beechworth Brewery and now Jetty Road.
